You know those websites that make it impossible to add an item to your cart, sign up for a newsletter or enter your credit card information? Sooo frustrating, right?! At surefoot, we make life easier for web surfers and shoppers like you.

We identify and ease user frustrations, improve conversions, and craft data stories that help our clients make sound, data-informed business decisions.

How, you ask?

In short, we formulate hypotheses based on data from sources like Google Analytics, HotJar, and user research, which allow us to identify the biggest friction points on our clients’ sites. Then, we validate or invalidate our hypotheses in the form of A/B tests, whose results we analyze to determine the optimal site experience.

In order for our A/B tests to be as successful as possible, we have to send qualified, motivated traffic to our clients’ sites. Doing that requires killer ad creative and strategies that stand out in a sea of sameness.

1099 copywriter responsibilities and requirements

As a 1099 copywriter at surefoot, your daily interactions will mostly consist of conversations with our paid media manager and project managers. We will rely on you to write short-form ad copy for platforms like Facebook, Google and Bing.

This is a great opportunity for you to get your foot in the door and hone your chops, as you’ll gain a lot of exposure to different types of clients, products and data about what words work (and don’t!)

must-haves

  • 3+ years experience writing digital ad copy.
  • experience working with e-commerce clients.
  • eagerness to test your copy, learn what doesn’t work and refine it to consistently improve.
  • an above average grasp of the English language and grammar, with the ability to defend your stance on the Oxford comma.
  • self-motivation, ability to work independently and remotely.
  • high “give a damn” factor – you care about the quality of your work, your clients, and those around you.
  • hobbies outside of work.

nice-to-haves

  • past agency experience.
  • experience with A/B testing or personalization.
  • interest in the outdoors or staying active (many of our clients fall into the outdoors and active lifestyle industry).
  • funny GIF library, good emoji usage, sense of humor.

nitty gritty details

  • 1099 contract role offering 5-10 hours/week to start. More possible in future as the company continues to grow.
  • Hourly rate: $40-60 (depending on experience).
  • The position is open to U.S.-based applicants only. No Visa sponsorship is provided.
